Does anyone know if there's any way for QuickBooks to attach passwords to Pay Stubs that it emails. It creates a PDF.
It would be great if a password could be setup for each employee...it could be the last 4 digits of their SS# if need be.
It is currently a privacy problem as many employees at many companies for one reason or another can get on other employees computers and have access to their email.
It's a great feature to be able to email Pay Stubs, but b/c of this shortcomming, my clients will not approve it, so I can't take advantage of it.
Unfortunately, that is not currently possible in QuickBooks. I will submit a suggestion to the product development team to consider this for possible inclusion in a future release.
If you have a PDF program, you could probably encrypt the files locally before sending them. This would have to be done outside of QuickBooks, though...

Yes. The password protection was added to increase the security of employee information. This change takes effect in QuickBooks 2007 and Enterprise 7.0 release R10 and later and QuickBooks 2008 and Enterprise 8.0 Release R3 and later.

Emailed Pay Stubs Password Protection Feb 13, 2008 08:33 am
This post is about: Premier QB 2007
I need to know how to email paystubs for employees to the payroll person on site at the Company. He does not want me to do this unless it is secure, i need some advise on this.
I'm not sure I understand your question. Could you describe what you
want to do in a little more detail? Specifically, why would you need
to email paystubs to the 'payroll person' on site?
