Peter Pappas, the Regional Director of the
CSBDC for New London County has had a diverse industrial and retail career. For the three years prior to his appointment with the CSBDC, he was principal of his own consulting business, working with manufacturing, retail and non-profit enterprises.
Trained as an engineer, he has designed and built manufacturing plants and commercial structures in the U.S. and Mexico. He has planned and managed the manufacturing of products including automotive sub-assemblies, books, electric motors, nuclear radiation measurement instruments and food products.
As an entrepreneur, he has been the owner/operator of several closely held businesses. He owned and operated a family restaurant chain and a specialty food retailer. He is currently Managing General Partner of a mixed use shopping center/medical complex in Norwich.
He has served on the Groton Town Council and is currently Chairman of the Groton Economic Development Commission. He has been a volunteer fireman for almost three decades, serving as Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal, and EMT. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Lowell Technological Institute (now Umass, Lowell), and an M.B.A. from Northeastern University, where he was first in his class.
